Our Aeration Services
Aeration is often the first step toward improving pond health. By adding oxygen from the bottom up, aeration systems increase circulation, reduce muck buildup, and improve overall water clarity and biological balance. For ponds with adequate depth, Blue Water Aquatics designs diffused aeration systems that are properly sized for each unique waterbody. We work with trusted manufacturers, take accurate measurements, and create a clear system layout to ensure effective circulation from the bottom up. From design to installation, we take the guesswork out of aeration.

Why Bottom Diffused Aeration?
Aeration is becoming more popular and we like to discuss with our customers the importance of pond aeration. Diffused aeration involves diffusing oxygen into the water below the surface, benefits the quality and health of the pond. Aeration mixes the water in the pond so that the buildup of toxic gasses are efficiently released and healthy oxygen replaces it. Adding an aeration system in your pond will help with water clarity, water quality, help prevent fish kill, and help reduce muck to ultimately provide a balanced ecosystem.
Our Aeration Maintenance Program
This Blue Water Aquatics maintenance program will help ensure that your aerator is in good working order all season. The program includes the following:
-
Spring installation and start up of equipment (if required)
-
Cabinet cleanout and inspection
-
New air filters installed
-
Monthly performance check
-
Winter shut down (if required)
Aerators are generally shut down and winterized starting in late October with all units shut down by the end of November. Aerators are generally started up for operation in March. While winterization is recommended for community safety in the winter, it is not required. Timelines may be adjusted pending weather and seasonal conditions. Customers will be notified of aeration start up and winterization.
