Surface Aeration Services
Our Surface Aeration Services
Surface aerators, also known as high oxygen transfer units, agitate high volumes of water at the pond's surface to increase oxygen levels, reduce debris, and improve water quality. These surface aeration systems are typically used for custom applications involving aquaculture, industrial needs, or even wastewater plants.

Why Surface Aeration?
Surface aerators are designed to stir large volumes of water at the surface, significantly boosting oxygen levels, breaking down debris, and enhancing overall water quality. High volume surface aerators are designed to float on the water to create a unique umbrella flow pattern to dramatically increase the turnover rate, increasing oxygen levels to protect fish during stress, while enhancing pond aesthetics. The added water circulation reduces floating debris and aids in removing pond sediment to improve water quality and reduce algae growth over time. Units are suitable for continuous operation
Our Surface Aeration Maintenance Program
This Blue Water Aquatics maintenance program will help ensure that your aerator is in good working order all season. The program includes the following:
-
Spring installation and start up of equipment
-
Monthly performance check
-
Fall removal and on site inspection of equipment
-
Cleaning and final inspection prior to storage
-
Winter storage
Aerators are generally shut down and winterized starting in late October with all units shut down by the end of November. Aerators are generally started up for operation in March. While winterization is recommended for community safety in the winter, it is not required. Timelines may be adjusted pending weather and seasonal conditions. Customers will be notified of aeration start up and winterization.
